Buuri Member of Parliament Mugambi Rindikiri was on Thursday morning involved in a road accident along the Timau- Meru road, where he sustained minor injuries.
The MP was heading to Meru town to attend a Presidential function when the vehicle he was travelling collided head on with an oncoming Toyota Hiace, near Sijar Farm as they were attempting to overtake a lorry. The Toyota was coming from the opposite direction.
Buuri Sub County Police Commander Kipkemoi Kipkurui noted that the legislator, his driver, and bodyguard escaped with minor injuries and were rushed to Nanyuki Cottage Hospital for checkup.
“The MP’s vehicle was attempting to overtake a lorry near Siraj Farm when it collided with an oncoming vehicle, which was being driven by a lone Catholic nun. The four suffered minor injuries and were taken to Nanyuki Cottage Hospital for treatment,” said Kipkurui.
Rindikiri was attended to at the hospital and later airlifted to a hospital in Nairobi for further treatment.
