Kakamega Governor, Fernandes Barasa, on Tuesday held a strategic meeting with ECDE and BOM teachers from Malava, in efforts to consolidate support for David Ndakwa ahead of the constituency’s upcoming Malava by-election.
The governor described Ndakwa who is vying for the seat as people-focused candidate with a clear understanding of Malava’s development priorities.
He urged teachers to back a leader who values education, community empowerment and embodies transparent leadership.
Barasa noted that Ndakwa’s approach reflects the broad-based support needed to move the constituency forward.
He highlighted the growing wave of endorsements from various local stakeholders, saying the momentum was a strong indication of the public’s faith in Ndakwa’s leadership qualities.
According to the governor, the unity being witnessed across Malava signals a constituency ready for stable and effective representation.
Governor Barasa was accompanied by President Ruto’s personal aide, Farouk Kibet, Deputy Governor, Ayub Savula, and MCAs from Malava, who unanimously pledged their support for Ndakwa.
The leaders emphasised that the by-election presents a chance for residents to choose a leader who can champion development and maintain close engagement with the community.
The Governor expressed hope that the next MP will prioritize education as a key pillar of socio-economic development and transformation.
With campaigns intensifying, Ndakwa continues to be entrenched as a strong frontrunner as the by-election draws closer.
