Govt commits to empower Kenyans through development programmes

The government has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering all Kenyans through entrepreneurship, education and skills development, pledging to create sustainable employment and innovation pathways across the country.

Health Services Advisor in the Office of the President, Dr. Loyce Rono, said the government was actively implementing several initiatives aimed at creating job opportunities while focusing on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the digital economy, housing and labour export.

Dr. Rono emphasised that the government was moving from policy to action, focusing on grassroots empowerment and sustainable livelihoods to combat unemployment.

The Advisor emphasized the importance of empowering all Kenyans, particularly those from marginalized areas to enhance the country’s overall development.

Speaking in Nakuru during a meeting with senior civil servants from the Rift Valley Region,  Dr. Rono reiterated the government’s  intention to include all Kenyans in decision-making processes to ensure inclusive development.

“We are engaging every citizen in the management of affairs of our country to ensure inclusivity,” the Advisor stated.

Dr. Rono indicated that the government was implementing programmes that will address socio-economic and developmental challenges in the country to ensure that the nation unlocks its economic potential.

She stated that the government’s primary responsibility remained development anchored on delivery and measurable outcomes.

The Advisor further said that the government was committed to serving all Kenyans equally, regardless of their ethnic or political affiliation.

Dr. Rono said government programmes such as universal health coverage, under the Social Health Authority (SHA), affordable housing and job creation efforts were beginning to take shape and Kenyans were eventually reaping the benefits.

She explained that SHA was providing more superior services than the defunct National Hospital Insurance Fund ever did in its nearly 63-year history.

Dr. Rono told Kenyans that real change is never easy and is often met with resistance and urged them not to listen to naysayers.

She urged parents to mentor their children so that the country can raise responsible citizens for the next generation.

Nakuru County Commissioner (CC) Dr. Loyford Kibaara assured that the Kenya Kwanza government will not be distracted in its quest to deliver quality services to Kenyans, as promised in its manifesto during the 2022 electioneering period.

The CC, who officially opened the retreat, said the government was committed to ensuring that Kenyans enjoy quality services and improved living standards through prudent management of the available public resources to enlarge the country’s economic activities and create a conducive environment to do business.

He said they were focused on delivering all the promises made to Kenyans and the government’s track record was already manifesting itself.
