Learning disruptions caused by frequent flooding at Emung’abo Primary School has come to an end following the relocation of the institution to a safer site in Khwisero sub county.
Area MP Christopher Aseka on Tuesday officially handed over seven newly constructed classrooms at the new Emung’abo Primary and Junior School, built through the Khwisero National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
The relocation fulfills an earlier commitment made by the legislator following frequent flooding at the school’s former location rainy seasons, forcing learners to miss lessons and disrupting the academic calendar.
Speaking during the handover, Aseka said the project was guided by the need to protect learners and improve education standards in the constituency.
“No child should miss school because of floods. By relocating Emung’abo School and constructing modern classrooms, we are ensuring our children learn in a safe, dignified and supportive environment,” said Aseka.
He added that the project aligns with his ‘Abana Basome’ Agenda, which prioritises access to quality education and improved learning infrastructure.
Parents, teachers and local leaders welcomed the development, noting that the new facilities are expected to boost enrolment, attendance and academic performance.
