SportPesa Mega Jackpot winners scoop millions, eye business investments

Two SportPesa Mega Jackpot bonus winners are set to enhance their fortunes with plans to invest in businesses, acquire property, and secure their financial futures.

Joseph Sambu, who is a businessman based in Eldoret, walked away with a Sh6,114,150 million Mega Jackpot bonus after correctly predicting 16 out of 17 matches.

Sambu, who hails from Ndalat in Nandi County but currently lives in Eldoret, said he has been a regular SportPesa player for years and was excited to finally scoop one of the biggest prizes.

“I am one of the Mega Jackpot bonus winners. I managed to get 16 out of 17 correct scores. I have played and won before, but my highest score then was 14 out of 17. This time, I was lucky to receive the highest stake and won Sh6 million,” he said.

“When the jackpot is released, I ensure I analyze and evaluate all 17 games before placing my predictions,” he said.

He explained that while making his predictions, he relied heavily on SportPesa’s Quick Pick feature after finding several matches difficult to call.

“I had challenges predicting some of the matches, so I substituted them with Quick Pick. About 85 per cent of my winning prediction came from those Quick Picks,” he said.

Sambu recalled receiving the winning notification while at the hospital for a medical check-up.

“I went to the hospital without money because I knew SportPesa pays bonuses very quickly. By the time I finished my treatment, the money had already been credited to my account,” he said.

He said he would invest in a business venture he had planned for a long time but lacked the capital to start.

“My first priority is to start a business that I have always wanted to establish. I had already bought a plot, so part of the money will also help me begin construction while the business continues to grow,” he added.

Another winner, Charles Gethae, a plumber from Umoja Estate in Nairobi, received a Sh5,247,684 million Mega Jackpot bonus after correctly predicting 15 out of 17 matches.

Gethae said he has consistently played the Mega Jackpot since 2016 without ever winning a jackpot or bonus.

“I have been betting on the jackpot and multibet since 2016. I had never won a jackpot or even a bonus before. I occasionally won through multibet, but this is a very special moment for me,” he said.

Despite the windfall, Gethae said he plans to continue participating in the Mega Jackpot while encouraging others to bet responsibly.

“I will continue playing, but I also encourage young people to invest wisely and always bet responsibly,” he said.

The two winners said the unexpected payouts will significantly improve their livelihoods by providing capital for business expansion, property development, and other long-term investments.
