APS Bomet FC Win at Home against Visiting Embu 3K FC

The APS Bomet FC scooped a home win against visiting 3K FC of Embu County, with a remarkable 3-2 scoreline in favor of the host, in a thrilling Easter Sunday match to redeem their hope of playing in the Kenyan top flight at the Bomet stadium.

The weekend encounter marked the 28th match for APS Bomet in the National Super League (NSL), with the team ranking second after Nairobi United in a race to earn a spot at the top flight FKF premier league next season.

“The game was hard for both sides. I can’t say that we had a better rating than our opponent who came while prepared,” Said Michael Muhandia, the Assistant Coach to APS Bomet FC.

Muhandia further remarked that both teams are in the race for KPL, with APS Bomet being in the second position in the League’s table standings.

“We thank God for the three added points but the race is still on. our fans came in big numbers to support us and we are assuring them that we shall do well in the remaining games,” he added.

Despite the Assistant Coach’s remarks of the game being tough, players Antony Naibei and Jimmy Nzechere of APS had a fair remark upon the Match that was hampered by heavy rains.

“The game was fine, though the weather was not conducive; we tried our best,” said Naibei.

In the tight match, APS Bomet nearly lost their winning hope towards the last minutes of the match after being held to a 2-2 draw; however midfielder Lawrence Kibet scored the third goal that gave them the win.

“The game was fair, though the winning was somehow gone from us, but we promise that in the next games we are going to win since the winning spirit is back,” Said Nzechere.

The visitors 3K FC opened the match’s score line in the 14th minute; at the 25th minute, APS Bomet equalized through Maxwell Kubasu and later Festus Kipkemoi gave them a lead of 3-2 in the first half.
