Uasin Gishu County Commissioner, Dr. Eddyson Nyale has underscored the need for sufficient funding for operationalization of the National Government Administrative Units (NGAUs) offices at the grass root level in order to take government services closer to the wananchi.
The CC commended the government’s commitment to bring services closer to the citizens at the grassroots, like operationalization of the Koriamat ACC’s office, Cheptiret divisional headquarters and other units across the county.
He made the remarks during the public participation exercise on the FY 2025/26 Estimates of the Revenue and Expenditure, County Hall, Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, chaired by the Member of Parliament, Alego Usonga Constituency, Samwel Atandi.
Dr. Nyale emphasized that national government administrative units play a key role in providing a range of services that are crucial to the citizens maintaining internal security, overseeing national registration, managing immigration, and coordinating National Government functions.
He commended the government for the recently commissioned Turbo DCC’s Office that has played a very important role in terms of decentralization of services, improving service delivery, and enhancing law enforcement and security management in the area.
The CC further mentioned on the construction of the Soy Sub County DCC’s office whose land was ready for use.
“We celebrate the recently commissioned DCCs Office in Turbo to help the government take services closer to the Wananchi, we have offices like Soy DCC’s office which is going to be constructed with land already allocated and Moiben DCC’s Office which also needs to be considered,” Dr Nyale said.
He appealed for sufficient funding to facilitate the renovation of the county commissioner’s office which is an old structure.
“We are requesting for refurbishment because we are heading to a model of certain level and magnitude in terms of offering government services effectively and efficiently,” he said.
The administrator lauded the citizens of Uasin Gishu for their attendance of public participation exercises in large numbers noting that it was very important to uphold their constitutional mandate to ensure they have a say in government decisions.
