Former Miss President Runners-up to represent youth

Ummulkheir Harun, a 26 years old woman has been nominated to represent Ijara constituency youth by the Azimio la Umoja one Kenya coalition party in the 13th parliament.

The founder and Executive Director of The KESHO Alliance, a non-profit making organization that promotes and advocates for quality education, youth and women empowerment, peace and security for sustainable development, Ummulkheir has been in the leadership limelight in several instances, among them having participated in the Miss President Television show debate where she emerged 2nd runners-up in 2019.

She was also ranked among the 100 most influential and inspiring Muslims in the same year in recognition of the work she does for women and youth and has been part of several leadership programs including Eisenhower Fellowship among others.

Ms Umulkheir has also participated in several high-level forums including the UN High level Parliamentary Forum where she showcased the impact of The KESHO Alliance in SDG 16.

She has a background in Computer science and has worked for Raila Odinga Presidential campaign secretariat, hence the nomination is not a surprise.
