A delegation from Guangdong, China, led by the Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Guyo Haiyan, on Tuesday paid a courtesy call to the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services Principal Secretary (PS) Dr. Belio Kipsang at his office at Nyayo House in Nairobi.
During the discussion, Dr. Kipsang said the government seeks to collaborate with China on areas such as technology, culture, and education.
The PS also stated Kenya’s commitment to partner with China on the enhancement of e-citizen and border control management, among other issues.
He enumerated the benefits Kenya has accrued from the Chinese government, highlighting the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway and the expressway as outstanding examples.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Amb. Haiyan thanked the Kenyan government for having a cordial cooperation with the Chinese government, saying it has fostered economic ties as well as cultural development between the two nations.
