Health workers urged to work diligently

Nyamira County Governor, Amos Nyaribo has called upon the health workers across the County to be rational and transparent while executing their duties at health facilities to ensure that every patient access proper health care service.

Nyaribo was speaking at Nyamira while flagging off a consignment of assorted medical drugs and medicine, noting that there were few reports of misuse and theft and urged the residents to keep an eye and report any incident of drugs stealing and corrupt deals.

“We are flagging off a consignment of assorted medicines worth Sh33 million to all our 113 health facilities to meet all resident’s health care needs at affordable rates,” Nyaribo confirmed.

“I want to commend the health workers for prompt utilization of the medicines that were flagged off in February this year, and no case of theft has been reported so far compared to previous times,” the Governor said.

He however encouraged residents to keep an eye and report any incident of misuse of these commodities in their areas.

Nyaribo added that in order to end the misuse and theft in the health facilities, his government intends to automate medicine management in the 2021/22 financial year, a move which will first be rolled out at the main hospitals and subsequently to the dispensaries and health centers.
