Member of County Assembly (MCA) Loosuk Ward in Samburu County Lkaunda Lenamparasio has launched a bursary that will benefit 92 students.
Speaking during the launch, Lenamparasio urged all parents in Loosuk Ward to take their children to school for them to benefit from the bursary and other bursaries in the county.
The MCA further urged leaders in the county to support education by giving out bursaries to vulnerable students in various institution to prevent drop out from school due to lack of school fees.
The MCA disclosed that Loosuk village has 25 beneficiaries, Pura12, Malaso 25, while 30 students from Tinga village will receive the bursary.
“Secondary school students will get Sh10,000, college Sh15,000 while university students will receive Sh20,000,” Lenamparasio said.
The MCA further revealed that cheques for the bursary will be disbursed next week to avoid students being send home for school fees.
He also urged all leaders in Samburu County to unite for faster development and better service delivery to the community.
