Migori Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Branch has opened its doors for a three-day regional agricultural show.
The show, which opened doors on September 25 and ends on 27, 2025, at the Migori Showground, Lichota under the theme: “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth has attracted more than 60 exhibitors from sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, banking, education, hospitality, and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) who are expected to participate.
Speaking during the opening day of the show, Migori Deputy Governor, Joseph Mahiri said that the show will provide a platform for farmers, business people and innovators, and exhibitors to display their products and services.
Mahiri said that the show will provide an opportunity for the people of Migori County to network with investors from other counties in the country.
The show has also given opportunities to other side events, such as football matches, and interactive forums to promote agriculture among the youth.
Mahiri said that the county will continue working closely with investors and the national government to ensure that lessons learnt from the show are implemented beyond the three-day event.
“We want people to leave with knowledge they can put into practice, not just memories of what they saw,” said Mahiri.
The Migori show, which started as a Harambee show in the 1980s, has grown into a South Western Kenya branch that has managed to attract more than 40 exhibitors every year, drawn from banking, manufacturing, hospitality, small and medium enterprises, education, and agriculture sectors, with a lot of innovative and new technologies being displayed.
