Emuhaya Member of Parliament Omboko Milemba has intensified development initiatives across the constituency, unveiling a series of education, infrastructure, road, electrification and security projects aimed at improving livelihoods and enhancing service delivery.
Speaking during visits to several schools and project sites across North East, Central and West Bunyore wards, Milemba reaffirmed his commitment to investing in quality education and sustainable development.
At Emurembe Primary School in North East Bunyore Ward, the legislator presented a development cheque worth Sh1 million for the construction of a new administration block.
He commended the school’s impressive academic performance, the commitment of its teachers and the support offered by parents and the community.
To further improve the learning environment, Milemba directed his office to allocate funds for the renovation of four classrooms and prioritized emergency funding for the construction of a six-door toilet.
While in the area, he also inspected the condition of the Ebunangwe–Emurembe Road, saying efforts would be made to fast-track its maintenance.
He further pledged to engage the relevant government agencies to expedite rural electrification in Mulukamu, Emakale, Wamihanda and Emayoka villages to ensure more households are connected to the national power grid.
In Central Bunyore Ward, the MP issued a cheque worth Sh1.7 million to Essaba Primary School for the renovation of five classrooms and fencing of the institution. The school has also been allocated emergency funds for the construction of a six-door boys’ latrine.
Milemba said the school has been earmarked for the future construction of an eight-classroom storey building complete with a modern administration block and offices, noting that the constituency is shifting from repeated renovations to permanent and quality educational infrastructure.
He also announced that he had secured Sh10 million from the National Government for the construction of Oswekha Bridge.
The project has already been advertised, with construction expected to commence next week.
Additionally, funds have been allocated for the construction of three new classrooms at Mukhungu Primary School to provide learners with a more conducive learning environment.
In West Bunyore Ward, the MP presented a cheque worth Sh1.4 million to Ebuyalu Primary School for the renovation of four classrooms.
He said the institution has also been prioritized for the construction of a modern storey classroom block as part of the constituency’s long-term plan to improve education infrastructure.
During the visit, Milemba encouraged parents and guardians of children living with disabilities to enroll them in special schools where they can access specialized care and quality education from trained teachers.
The legislator also addressed concerns over insecurity in parts of West Bunyore, particularly in Embali and Askote along the Busia–Kisumu Highway. He noted that following the recent visit by the Principal Secretary for Internal Security, Raymond Omollo, security interventions are already being implemented to address the situation.
Milemba recalled that he had previously installed security lights along the highway to enhance safety at night but noted that some had been vandalized and were no longer operational. He pledged to restore the lighting system and appealed to residents to safeguard public infrastructure, emphasizing that its protection is a shared responsibility.
He reiterated his commitment to delivering practical development projects that improve education, infrastructure, security and the overall well-being of residents across Emuhaya Constituency.
