One suspect has been arrested in Homabay County in connection with a syndicate of leakage of the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE).
The Homa Bay County Commissioner Moses Lilan said the 32 year old suspect identified as Calvin Magolo was arrested yesterday after security personnel in the county cracked down the intricate syndicate involving the suspect and accomplices in Nairobi who sent him the exam leakages.
Lilan said the suspect is a teacher in Nyagwedhe Secondary School in Suba South Sub-County and that he was distributing the leaked exams through a mobile phone to a network of exam cheating perpetrators in Nyamira, Kisii and Migori counties.
‘The suspect was discovered to be receiving leaked exam papers one hour before the start of each paper before he distributes the papers to his contacts in Kisii, Nyamira and as far as Isebania in Migori county,” he said
The administrator said they were interrogating the suspect in a bid to crackdown the entire syndicate and ensure they were brought to book.
He further said the suspect will be arraigned in court later today after investigations have been completed.
