The Office of Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) in the North rift Region has launched the customer service week 2026 to appreciate its clients, showcasing achievements and increasing awareness of the office’s mandate.
The event held at ORPP North rift Office in Eldoret brought onboard representatives from Uasin Gishu Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) Network, political parties, youth and women groups among others.
Speaking during the event which culminated in the cutting of the cake branded with ORPP’s corporate colors, the Regional Head, Hassan Maloba highlighted the importance of the event as he underscored some of the activities the office is undertaking this week.
He said they will be appreciating their clients including the general public, political parties, CSOs, MDAs and others through showcasing some of the achievements the office has made in preparedness towards 2027 elections like enhancing civic education and training of youth, women, PWDs, CSOs and political leaders on electoral preparedness and electoral timelines.
“We are also increasing awareness of the ORPP’s mandate on matters of registration, regulation and administration of the Political Party’s fund, so that people understand what is required of them to participate in elections,” he noted.
He also underscored the importance of compliance by political parties by ensuring their offices meet the law requirements to function.
“As part of our regulation we are also inspecting political offices to ensure they are within the law. This is where citizens get information in regard to registration to parties. We urge them to be compliant if not we will issue closure notice,” concluded Maloba.
The participants appreciated ORPP for its commitment and support as they called for enhanced civic education and training as the country heads towards the upcoming general elections next year.
Kenya is marking this years’ service week from October 5-9 2026, under the theme “Extra Mile: Transforming Public Service Through Customer Service Excellence”, with the national tagline “Huduma Bora, Taifa Bora.”
