Police in Narok Town have launched investigations into a murder incident after the body of an unidentified man was found lying in a trench along the Narok–Ololulunga road near the Post Office early Friday morning.
Narok Central Police Sub-County Commander, Benson Pamba, said the incident was reported at around 6.30 a.m. by a boda boda rider who alerted officers at Narok Police Station after spotting the body.
Police officers rushed to the scene and found the body of an adult male that had serious head injuries suspected to have been inflicted using a blunt object.
The incident was documented and the officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation(DCI) took up the matter to establish circumstances surrounding the death of the man.
The body of the deceased was moved to Narok County Teaching and Referral hospital morgue for awaiting postmortem and identification.
Pamba appealed to members of the public to help with any information that could help in arresting the perpetrators and unravel the mystery behind the death.
At the same time, he said that security patrols within the area have been intensified warning that anyone who comes into conflict with the law will be dealt with accordingly.
Narok town Member of County Assembly (MCA), Douglas Masikonde, condemned the murder describing it as tragic and alarming saying that security patrols by the police officers should be heightened to boost surveillance and restore security in the area.
The incident comes amid increased murder cases being reported since December last year and as recent as last week a man suspected to have stolen a motorcycle was lynched by irate boda boda riders.
Investigations into the latest killings are ongoing.
