The Sabatia National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) has disbursed Sh 25 million to secondary school students in the constituency.
Speaking during the cheques awarding ceremony at Chandumba secondary school in West Sabatia ward, the area Member of Parliament (MP) Clement Sloya said the bursary programme aimed at promoting equitable access to education.
Sloya reaffirmed his team’s commitment to supporting learners from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, as education is regarded as an equalizer in the society.
“The bursary allocation, which prioritizes needy and vulnerable students, underscores the constituency’s commitment to inclusive education and reducing financial barriers to academic success,” said the MP.
He added that with continued collaboration between political leadership, educational institutions and the community, the initiative is expected to impact thousands of learners in the constituency.
The community members, educationists, and parents attended the event in a strong show of support, highlighting their shared belief in education as a driver of social and economic transformation.
