‎‎There was joy in Embu Town as Safaricom unveiled its 12th Sh 1 million winner from the area in the ongoing Shangwe@25 Consumer National Promotion.

‎‎ Faith Muchira from Gatunduri Village in Manyatta Constituency was handed her cheque at a colorful event that saw may residents also receive assorted goods and merchandize from the giant Tele communication company.

‎‎ The win was not hers alone as an additional Sh250,000 will be handed over to a community project of her choice according to Safaricom Head of Commercial Operations Martin Chere.

‎‎ He said Faith was the third winner from Mt. Kenya Region and urged their customers to continue participating by earning points from various transactions including Mpesa transactions to stand a chance to win the grand prize money as well as other daily and weekly prizes.

‎‎ “The promotion that has been running from 31st October and to run up to January 19, 2026 is part of appreciating our customers for their continued support and loyalty as we mark 25 years of our existence,” said Chere.

‎‎ The winner expressed her joy following the win she said came as a surprise after purchasing data bundles via Mpesa.

‎‎ The young business lady said she plans to use the money to expand her farming business in order to employ more jobless people in her community.

‎‎ Safaricom also called on residents to be wary of fraudsters who masquerade as members of their staff with fake calls and messages to trick them into sharing their Mpesa details such as PIN, password or personal details.

‎‎ “Be cautioned that Safaricom will never ask you for such details and so report such suspicious calls and messages to us immediately by forwarding through SMS code 333,” said Patrick Mburu who is Mt. Kenya Regional Business Head.
