Shell–Nachu–SGR road works reaches Mbomboini in Kikuyu

Tarmacking works on the Shell–Nachu–SGR Road in Kikuyu Constituency have reached the Mbomboini section, with construction teams undertaking road works along different sections of the corridor.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’ua has said the ongoing works are aimed at improving connectivity within the constituency and opening up the area to greater economic opportunities.

The MP said road clearing, earthworks, and sectional tarmacking were progressing steadily as the project advances towards completion.

“Progress is moving ahead as ongoing tarmacking works reach the Mbomboini section of the Nachu Shell–SGR Road. Construction teams are advancing to pave the entire corridor, setting the stage for a seamless connection to the Ngong–Suswa Road,” said the MP.

The completion of the road would provide a strategic transport link towards Narok and Bomet, significantly reducing travel time and easing movement across county boundaries.

According to the MP who is leader of the majority in the National Assembly, the improved road network would also benefit farmers and traders by enabling fresh produce to reach major markets faster while reducing transportation delays and vehicle maintenance costs.

He said the project was part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and stimulate economic development in Kikuyu Constituency.

“Step by step, we continue opening up Kikuyu Constituency to greater opportunities, investment, and growth,” he said.

The Shell–Nachu–SGR Road works remained a priority in Kikuyu, noting that the improved corridor would connect communities, facilitate the movement of goods and people, and create an enabling environment for investment.

The MP added that the road would complement other infrastructure projects in the region by strengthening connectivity between Kikuyu and neighboring areas.

The project is expected to improve accessibility for residents along the corridor while supporting trade and other economic activities once completed.

He reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure development, saying improved road connectivity was key to unlocking the economic potential of Kikuyu and positioning the constituency as an attractive destination for investment.
