A member of the Police Reforms Taskforce has assured security officers that views collected from them, would help to come up with measures that will eliminate any operational shortcomings, the police officers have been facing for many years.
Ibrahim Jillo Guyo, who led the Taskforce team that received views from Kenya Police, Administration Police Service, and District Criminal Investigation Officers (DCI) at the Mtelo Hall building in Kapenguria Town, said the officers had been given a platform to express their concern, that would help improve the working environment for the officers.
He asked the officers to be open and express their concerns without fear, so that they can be addressed and in so doing, enable the officers deliver in their duty of serving the public.
“The views will help the Police Reform Taskforce, to come up with a Report that will help to enhance the working environment for security employees,’’ he reiterated.
He assured security officers that their views, proposals, and recommendations regarding their terms of service, will be considered in order to improve service delivery to Kenyans.
Mr Guyo explained that citizens of Kenya expect security officers to deliver services in a professional manner, in order to retain the confidence of those with whom they are dealing.
Mr. Guyo is an Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police and is currently serving as the Director of Training and Reforms at the Administration Police Service. He is also a Certified Human Resource Professional.
