Drought-hit families in West Pokot receive relief food

Vulnerable households in West Pokot County have received relief food donations from the government. While donating the relief food on Friday at Sebit village in Kipkomo sub-county, the area Deputy County Commissioner, Teresia Muguro hailed the government for coming on board to ensure no Kenyan dies of hunger.

The region received 1200 bags of rice, 2160 bags of beans, and 600 cartons of canned meat.

A number of beneficiaries who addressed the press said the food donations would cushion them during these hard economic times brought by drought effects resulting from climate change.
