Appearing before Presiding Magistrate, Beatrice Toroitich, the octogenarian narrated how his son, identified as Kiprop Chepkok, had attempted to kill him.

Police records indicated the attempted murder incident occurred late last year.

According to the old man, the son had attempted to kill him using an inflammable substance before violently ejecting him from his home compound.

“He wanted to torch my house using petrol,” alleged Mzee Chepkok, adding the bone of contention between the two is a 30-acre piece of land and property owned by him at Tulwet area in Uasin Gishu County.

Claiming he was now leading a refugee-like life, the old man pleaded with the court to help tame his son whom he described as rogue.

“Your honor my son harvested all the maize I planted on my three acres parcel of land last year before chasing me away with a machete vowing never to allow me access my property despite giving him a share of my wealth alongside his siblings,” averred Chepkok

The octogenarian wants the judiciary to issue orders which would enable him to dispose of part of his property before buying the accused a piece of land elsewhere, far away from their home.

It is my prayer that the court will assist me relocate my son to a faraway place. This would enable me to lead a peaceful life,” said the visibly enraged Mzee Chepkok.

The son is currently out on bond.
