Uyoma residents receive Christmas boost from Ruto

More than 500 vulnerable families in Uyoma, Rarieda constituency, yesterday received Christmas gifts from President William Ruto through the Medical Services Principal Secretary, Dr. Ouma Oluga.

The gifts, which included food items and wheelchairs, were delivered to the beneficiaries at the PS’s home in North Uyoma ward.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Dr. Oluga called on the community to stand with each other by supporting the less fortunate in the society.

Dr. Oluga called on the community to appreciate President Ruto’s gesture by supporting his government.

Addressing the occasion, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s confidant Okech Sala said the former ODM party leader was committed to the broad-based government and had allegedly pledged to support President William Ruto’s re-election in the 2027 general election.

He urged ODM members to honor Odinga’s wish by rallying behind the president beyond the current broad-based government arrangement.

Sala at the same time told ODM members to be wary of the party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, whom he alleged was being influenced by external forces to weaken the party.

“Even Raila himself, before his death, had expressed concern over the conduct of Sifuna,” he said.

The businessman/politician accused the secretary general of undermining the authority of current party leader Dr. Oburu Oginga, saying that the leader deserves maximum respect as the rightful leader and the one mandated to chart ODM’s future direction.
