Former South West Kisumu Ward MCA, Joseph Abiola, has rallied the young people across Luo Nyanza to ensure they register as voters ahead of the 2027 polls.
Abiola challenged the Luo nation including all elected leaders from the region to rally all eligible residents to register as voters in every corner in Luo Nyanza starting with the scheduled voter listing exercise scheduled to take place at Kisian in Kisumu tomorrow on Tuesday.
Abiola who has organized the exercise also rallied the residents who lost their Identification Cards(ID’s) to take advantage of the ongoing ID registration mop up exercise organized by him to get new ones including parents who need birth certificates for their children.
“On the eleventh of this month on Tuesday at my offices in Kisian we have organized mass ID cards registration drive including replacement of lost ones as well as issuance of birth certificates and SHA registration,” disclosed Abiola
He also passionately appealed to residents of South West Kisumu to come out enmasse and register as voters to enable them elect leaders of their choice.
“The IEBC have announced a substantial budget allocation for the voter registration exercise but our people are extremely lethargic and full of euphoria but don’t register as voters yet this is the tool to use in clinching power,” pointed Abiola who urged Kisumu residents from Obambo, Osiri, Paga,Ogal, Kajulu to come out in large numbers and participate in the voter listing exercise.
Abiola at the same hailed the formation of the broad based government by President William Ruto for its inclusivity and spurring development and uniting the entire country.
“The broad based government architect, President Ruto has brought tangible development to Nyanza thus the Luo nation must awaken and change tact in how they pursue politics because its only in working with the United Democratic Alliance(UDA) party that the Luo nation stands any reasonable chance of ascending to the Presidency.
