Turkana County teams delivered strong performances across multiple disciplines today at the ongoing KICOSCA games in Siaya.
The men’s basketball team opened the day in commanding fashion with a 66–32 victory over Narok County, while the women’s team cruised past Machakos with a comfortable 25–6 win.
The highlight of the evening was a highly anticipated showdown between Turkana’s men’s basketball team and a formidable Bungoma County side where Turkana beat Bungoma 60–36 to take the overall lead in Pool A.
In darts, the men’s team began their game on a high note with a win over Kericho County and Kitui County.
The darts women’s team also finished second after beating Nyandarua.
Action on the pool table saw mixed fortunes. After dropping their opener to Nyandarua, the men’s team were held to a draw against Meru County, having won earlier against Kiambu qualifying for the next round.
In Scrabble, standout player Jonathan Wafula impressed with opening wins against Uasin Gishu and Busia Counties, positioning himself well for a potential knockout-stage appearance.
