More delegations are still trooping to pay tribute to the grave of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga more than a month after his burial.
The latest entourage to the Kango Ka Jaramogi in Bondo where the political enigma was laid to rest was the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community as more groupings from all walks of life make their way to pay pilgrimage.
Odinga was laid to rest on the 19th October after he collapsed and died at Kerala hospital in India where he had gone for treatment.
The community led by his eminence Koserali Bhaisaheb visited the grave where they delivered condolences message from their 53rd spiritual leader His holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal to the wife of the late Odinga, Dr Idah Odinga.
Speaking on behalf of the community Huzeifa Hakimi revealed the deep connection between the community and the Odinga’s spanning 30 years.
Hakimi said Odinga’s contributions brought stability in the country expressing confidence that his legacy shall live on for national progress.
He said that the community has lived in the country for more than two hundred years and benefited from development projects initiated by the late Odinga in the last three decades.
“We have called kenya home for over 200 years and as Kenyans we want to honor his legacy and contributions to peace, unity and development in the country” said Hakimi.
“We have a warm cordial relationship with the Odinga’s which started way back in 2002 when Raila Odinga as the then prime minister graced the opening of a. community road in Karen Nairobi and we are here to condole with the family” He added.
Raila Odinga’s grave has remained a highly visited site with citizens, community groups and politicians from the political divide as well as foreign tourists paying homage to the late political doyen.
