Bandari FC has expressed confidence ahead of their upcoming Football Kenya Federation Sportpesa League match against Murang’a Seal FC tomorrow (Saturday).
Speaking during a media briefing at Mbaraki Sports Club on Friday morning, Bandari Head Coach John Baraza assured fans that they are well-prepared to secure maximum points at home.
Coach Baraz a said the team has been working hard in training and is focused on winning games in the league. Last weekend, Bandari lost to Shabana 1-0 at the Mbaraki Sports Ground.
“Up to now, I can say the team is ready, and this is a come out of the practice that we have been doing since the beginning of the week, and this is for us to get a win in the game, and every player has the urge for the team to win the coming game”, John Baraza said.
Bandari received a major boost ahead of the fixture with the return of Captain Andrew Juma, who had been sidelined since the third game of the previous season after suffering an ACL injury.
Juma confirmed during the press briefing that he is now fully fit and ready for a comeback on the pitch.
His return is expected to strengthen Bandari’s defensive organization and on-pitch leadership.
Winger William Gitamu, who had been nursing a knee injury that he got during their last FKF-PL match against Shabana FC, has fully recovered.
The club will miss the service of striker Beja Nyamawi, who has knee problems and defender Dennis Njire, who has suffered a muscle tear in the thigh.
The coach thanked supporters for the huge numbers that showed up in their last FKF-PL game against Shabana.
“I want to say sorry that we didn’t manage to win the last game, but don’t give up, we urge them tomorrow to show up in the same numbers and support the team, and I know the players will make them happy.”
Bandari, currently eyeing a stronger position in the FKF-PL table, will rely on their solid defensive line and attacking pace to outclass Murang’a Seal, who have also shown resilience in their last FKF-PL match, where they won 2-0 at Gusii stadium while facing APS Bomet.
The clash is expected to draw a large crowd at Mbaraki Sports Club, with fans hopeful of a thrilling encounter.
Meanwhile, over the past three months Bandari FC has been going through an evolution in terms of embarrassing technology, and the team has started using GPS, the use of online tickets and other adjustments are expected to come by time.
Bandari FC has started partnering with supermarkets to sell their merchandise jerseys in large numbers.
