Farmers and residents of Eldama Ravine have been asked to attend an agricultural expo organized by the Eldama Ravine Technical and Vocational College.
According to the institution’s Deputy Principal Mr. Musa Bontich, the expo slated for Friday 28th October will help farmers gain knowledge on the latest practices in Agriculture.
He added that farmers and residents will also learn of the courses offered by the institution so as to enlist their children to gain practical skills that will empower them.
“So far 15 firms have shown interest and they will pitch tent to showcase the various services they offer to farmers,” said Bontich, adding that close to 600 farmers had confirmed their participation in the event and called on more to attend.
The institution which is two years old offers 23 certificate, craft certificate and diploma courses mainly in automotive mechanical, agriculture, business and ICT. The institution currently has 410 students and 16 tutors but looks forward to enlisting over 6000 students in the long run.
The event which starts at 9:00 am will have the Baringo Governor, area Member of Parliament, Members of the County Assembly among other leaders in attendance.
By the time of going to the press, several firms had pitched tent and staged their wares at the institution which is located along the Eldama Ravine Makutano highway.
The institution is Technical and Vocational Educational and Training (TVET) institute under the Ministry of Education’s Department of Vocational training which targets to equip youths with relevant skills in the job market.
