Homa Bay County to undertake personnel audit

The Human Resource and Payroll System, Department of Public Service in Homa Bay County is to undergo auditing to improve service delivery.

This is an order issued on Friday by the County Governor through a press release and is anticipated to exterminate ghost workers from the payroll.

According to the County Governor, Gladys Wanga, ghost workers have over the years cost the county millions of shillings hence the need for the audit.

In the memo, the payroll and personnel census auditing will also enhance the integrity and efficiency of the County Human Resource Systems, which will in turn improve service delivery in the county.

The Governor said the audit will further test the irregularities and fraudulent undertakings that may have been committed in the Human Resource Department.

She further made it clear that any form of corruption and extortion that previously marred every recruitment in the County will henceforth not be tolerated and urged the members of the public to report any form of attempted corruption.

Academic documents of candidates who were successfully appointed to various positions will also be verified and authenticated in the audit.
