Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka has urged residents of Khushiku sub-location, particularly young people, to take part in the ongoing voter registration exercise as a way of strengthening their voice in leadership and development matters.
Speaking during a youth empowerment engagement yesterday, the MP emphasised the importance of civic participation, noting that voter registration remains a powerful tool for influencing future leadership choices and ensuring community interests are represented.
The meeting focused on social and economic empowerment, bringing together youth to discuss opportunities for entrepreneurship, self-reliance and community involvement.
Participants were encouraged to embrace programmes that support income generation, skills development and active citizenship.
“Leadership begins with participation. If you want change, you must first register and vote because your voice matters in determining the future of Khwisero,” said Aseka.
He further challenged the youth to take a leading role in shaping policies that affect their livelihoods by actively engaging in governance processes.
The forum also served as a platform to mobilise residents to register in large numbers ahead of future electoral activities.
