The body of a 19 year old man was found dangling from the roof top of his liquor shop in Kitwii village, Kangundo Sub County in Machakos.
Confirming the incident, area Chief, David Muli said the motive behind the suicide bid was not immediately established.
“His family waited for him to close his wines and spirits shop and come home to no avail. At around 10 am on Friday, his body was discovered in his shop,” said Muli.
According to the chief, the deceased had locked the door from inside hence it had to be broken into in order to gain access.
Muli regretted the incident, adding that there are high chances that the departed had been highly troubled before opting to commit suicide.
He also called on parents to fully counsel and engage their children in an effort to break any barriers between them.
“Parents should make themselves available so that their children can be in a position to approach them in case they are burdened with any issues,” said the chief.
The body was taken to the Kangundo sub county hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem to establish the actual cause of death.
