Hamisi Member of Parliament Charles Gimose has reiterated his commitment to strengthening the education sector in the constituency, terming education as a critical pillar of rural development and a powerful tool for transforming lives.
Speaking during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Thanksgiving Ceremony at Muhudu Secondary School, Gimose joined parents, teachers, students, alumni, local administrators, and community members in celebrating the school’s impressive performance in the 2025 national examinations.
The legislator commended the school’s management, teachers, learners, and parents for their collective efforts that contributed to the commendable results, noting that academic excellence is achieved through collaboration, discipline, and dedication from all stakeholders.
As evidence of his support for education, Gimose presented a bursary cheque worth Sh500,000 to assist needy students in meeting their school fee obligations and remain in school for their studies.
In addition, he spearheaded a successful harambee that raised Sh1.5 million towards the improvement of the school’s computer laboratory. The funds are expected to enhance digital learning opportunities and equip students with technological skills required in the modern world.
“Education remains one of the most important investments we can make as a society. By supporting our schools and learners, we are laying a strong foundation for future generations and creating opportunities for our young people to achieve their full potential,” said the MP.
He emphasized the importance of embracing digital learning, noting that technology continues to play a central role in education, innovation, and economic development.
The MP’s support for Muhudu Secondary School adds to a series of education-focused initiatives he has championed across Hamisi Constituency in recent months.
Through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), Gimose has continued to expand bursary programmes, improve school infrastructure, and support learning institutions in a bid to ensure that no child is denied access to education due to financial constraints.
Recently, the legislator presided over the issuance of bursaries to students from day and boarding schools across the constituency at Senende High School and Imusutsu Secondary School.
During the occasions, he encouraged parents to apply for bursaries on time and assured residents of his continued commitment to supporting education.
He has also overseen the transformation of several schools through infrastructure development projects, including the modernization of learning facilities that were previously in poor condition. Such investments have significantly improved learning environments and enhanced access to quality education for learners across the constituency.
Gimose noted that empowering young people through education remains one of his key development priorities, adding that educated and skilled youth are essential for community growth and national development.
The event was attended by Tiriki East Deputy County Commissioner Michael Too, chiefs and assistant chiefs from the area, alumni of Muhudu Secondary School, parents, teachers, students, and members of the local community.
Speakers at the event lauded the school’s progress and called for continued collaboration among stakeholders to sustain academic excellence and improve educational standards in the region.
The celebrations concluded with a thanksgiving service and renewed commitments from leaders, parents, and education stakeholders to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes and preparing learners for future opportunities.
