Assets  worth over  Sh.200 Million lies unclaimed in eastern region, the Eastern Regional Commissioner (RC), Isaiah Nakoru  has said.

Nakoru  has  directed County commissioners to ensure the information concerning the unclaimed assets is cascaded down to residents through chiefs.

“Let the information concerning the unclaimed assets be availed to wananchi so that the owners may go and claim it,” he noted.

The  RC  who  was chairing Embu-Tharaka Nithi intercounty security meeting in Embu has also directed chiefs to ensure all school going children are in school.

“It is bad for school going children to be found in your area of jurisdiction not attending school,” he warned the chiefs.

On  security, Nakoru noted that Eastern Region have been calm, noting that this is due to concerted effort of administration and security agencies.

He also lauded the team for good cooperation terming that multiagency approach to regional issues is the way to go.

Nakoru also lauded the team for fighting tirelessly against gambling machines, illicit brew and drugs. However, he has challenged them not to relent until all social evils in the region are contained.

The RC challenged chiefs to ensure order and peaceful coexistence prevail in their area of jurisdiction.

On government projects, the RC urged the county commissioners, their deputies and chiefs to be holding frequent barazas to stress on what the government is doing.

“Let all of us market the good image of the government by disseminating information on what the government is doing at the grassroots,” he added.

The meeting had brought together administration and security agencies from Embu and Tharaka Nithi Counties.
