Government will provide adequate security for the census officials during the 2019 National Census exercise.
Suna West Deputy County Commissioner Mutua Bella while reading a speech on behalf of Migori County Commissioner during official opening for the training of Content Supervisors in a Migori Hotel, said the Government has put necessary measures to ensure all Kenyans are protected during the exercise.
He said all the officers who will be involved during the national census should know their work effectively and do it without fear of their security.
Close to 439 successful Content Supervisors in Migori County will be guided by 45 ICT trained officers during one-week period that started on Monday.
He said the Government will spend a lot of money to ensure all Kenyans are counted being an important step when planning for national resources.
Bella assured the trainees that government will provide needed support in terms of transportation and safety of the Census materials during the entire enumeration period.
Meanwhile Migori County Stastics officer Kennedy Dede said all the required procedures in readiness for the national census in Migori County have been successfully followed.
Dede said the successful Migori County number of ICT and Content Supervisors was uniformly arrived as per standards used elsewhere in the country.
The CSO reiterated that Migori residents should embrace the national census exercise as part of the government indicator while planning resources distribution and other important government services to the people.
The training of the Content Supervisors is expected to end after one week whereby they will play a key role in training the enumerators to commence mid-August. According to the government calendar the national census exercise is supposed to take place night of 24/25 in August.
