Security agencies in Embu County have assured residents of Mbeere North Constituency of adequate security in the by-election to be held tomorrow.
County Police Commander Sarah Koki said they had deployment enough security officers to ensure the exercise was conducted in a peaceful environment.
Speaking on Wednesday at St Bakhita Siakago girls which is the Constituency tallying center, Ms. Koki said all the 124 polling stations will be manned two armed police officers.
Additionally, the police boss there also will be presence of plain cloth officers to boost security within the area despite the concern from the opposition camp.
The opposition alleged that deployment of plain cloth officers was a plot by the government to intimidate voters or lead to potential chaos.
However, the police boss dispelled the fears, saying it was a way of ensuring that goons who may be hired to mess with the exercise are identified and dealt with quickly.
She further revealed they have set patrol police in various places to ensure the highly contested poll is flawless.
