Six  people were arraigned in a Makueni Court  and charged with sabotaging work at the Thwake Multipurpose Dam.

The  accused, Cosmas Mwania, Philip Musyoka, James Mwaniki, Brian Kilango, Mark Ndolo and Alex Musyoki appeared before the Senior Principal Magistrate (SPM), James  Mwaniki  on Thursday.

The  court heard that on July 31, 2019 the accused persons barricaded the Mavindini-Katithi-Thwake road using stones and logs making it difficult for the police to provide security in the area.

The  six pleaded guilty to the charges whereby the SPM ordered that a probation report be compiled on each person before the ruling of the case on August 14, 2019.

Last  week on Friday the 900 Thwake dam workers downed their tools alleging that they were being mistreated, poor pay and bad working conditions at the camp site where they stay.
