The county government of Vihiga has reaffirmed her commitment to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in the provision of public service.
The county officials declared the resolve when officials from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), led by Chief Executive Officer Abdi Mohamud, paid a courtesy call to Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo.
Ottichilo said the discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in promoting ethical leadership and enhancing accountability within county institutions.
The governor noted that the commission had acknowledged the county’s continued efforts in upholding ethical standards and fostering transparent public service.
He highlighted the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the County Government of Vihiga and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in 2019, saying it has played a key role in strengthening the fight against corruption within the county.
According to the governor, the partnership has facilitated capacity-building programmes for county executive staff, sensitization on ethical leadership, and initiatives aimed at promoting accountability across county departments.
He reiterated that the county government remains committed to building a culture of integrity by strengthening systems that promote responsible management of public resources and ensure efficient service delivery to residents.
Ottichilo further assured residents that his administration would continue working closely with EACC and other stakeholders to reinforce accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership in all county operations.
