Two people sustained serious in Rangwe Sub County injuries after a huge tree fell over the tent they were holding a prayer session.
The two were rushed to Asumbi Mission Hospital for treatment although the nature and thje severity of their injuries could not be ascertain by the time going to press.
The duo identified as Daniel Onyango and Fred Odhiambo were almost crush during the morning Prayer service at around 4 am together with other church members in the ongoing camp meeting, when their tents were crushed by a falling tree.
The rare incident occurred last Wednesday morning at Gul Kagembe Roho church in Gem central Location where Roho church worshippers had set camp for glory prayers service.
Area Chief Peter Oula, however attributed the tree fall to heavy rains that pounded the area for the better part of the night and possibly weakened the roots of the tree resulting to the fall.
He told KNA that casualties sustained severe injuries on the head, shoulder and other parts of the body.
The administrator further added that other worshipers who were gathered in the tent for prayer services escaped unhurt during the incident.
He reiterated that the tree also destroyed the public address system which was being used by the worshipers during the prayer service.
The chief further warned the residents to be cautious during this rainy season so as to avoid such unfortunate incidents.
