Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has rolled-out modern medical equipment in an effort to transform healthcare by focusing on early detection of diseases, surgery and laboratory services across various public hospitals in Machakos.
The initiative comes at a time when accessing quality healthcare is becoming a challenge for many Kenyans.
The Governor, speaking during the flag-off at her office grounds, said that the modern machines, which include a 128-slice CT scanner, modern operating theatre systems and advanced laboratory equipment, would ensure quality healthcare that encompasses patient safety, surgical precision and diagnostic accuracy.
“Through the deliberate investment of modern medical technologies and upgraded healthcare infrastructure, my government is steadily transforming the capacity of public health systems to meet the growing needs of our people,” said the Governor.
She added that the equipment are also meant to strengthen the county’s ability to provide timely, accurate and specialized care and would be distributed across selected level 3 and 4 facilities, including Machakos County Teaching and Referral Hospital as well as Kangundo, Masinga, Mavoko, Masii and Kathiani hospitals.
Further, Governor Wavinya noted that the equipment will save time and financial burden for Machakos people and, at the same time decongest public hospitals.
“The investment is a clear commitment to ensure that our people receive quality healthcare services closer home without the need to travel outside for specialized care,” said Wavinya.
