Ngong Road-Naivasha road junction flyover nears commissioning

The Ngong Road-Naivasha road junction flyover has reached completion and is set for commissioning, marking a major milestone in the Government’s continued investment in modern road infrastructure aimed at improving mobility, enhancing urban connectivity and supporting Nairobi’s growth as a world-class city.

Implemented by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), the project comprises an 800-metre elevated dual carriageway designed to separate through-traffic along Ngong Road from vehicles accessing Naivasha Road and King’ara Road. The grade-separated junction is expected to improve traffic flow, enhance road safety and increase the efficiency of transport operations along this critical urban corridor.

According to the State Department for Roads, upon opening to traffic, the flyover will significantly reduce congestion and travel times for commuters travelling between Ngong, Dagoretti and Nairobi’s Central Business District, while also improving access to key social and economic facilities, including the nearby Talanta Sports City in preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The project reflects the Government’s commitment to delivering strategic transport infrastructure that supports economic growth, enhances urban mobility and improves the quality of life for residents.

The State Department for Roads continues to provide policy oversight and coordination to ensure the successful implementation of such transformative infrastructure projects across the country.
