A sombre mood engulfed Ongera village in Rachuonyo East Sub County after a body of a middle-aged man was found floating in river Awach.
The body was discovered by a fisherman who was fishing in the river.
The fisherman who gave his name as Caleb Awuor said he saw something suspicious floating on the water.
When he moved closer, he was shocked to find that it was a human body.
“I was fishing when I saw something that looked strange. I moved closer and was horrified to discover it was a human body,” Owuor said, adding that the body was of a light skinned heavy built man.
The Chief of Kojwach Location Caroline Onyango said the man had not been identified.
“We discovered that the man lacked any identification documents.” Onyango said.
The administrator urged residents with missing relatives to report to the nearest police station.
“We appeal to any family whose loved one is missing to report to any police station to help us in identifying the body,” Onyango said.
The body was moved to Rachuonyo South Sub- County Hospital Mortuary in Oyugis Town for postmortem.
