By M, KNA

A 30-year-old man was killed in a bizarre attack in Upper Kotetni village in Korando area of Kisumu West Sub-County on Thursday night.

The victim, identified as Silas Onyango Mogo was seated on the co-driver`s seat as they drove home with his wife at around 8.00 pm, when two attackers riding on a motor-cycle, suddenly blocked their vehicle and pounced on him with knives.

Preliminary reports indicated that the two men later dragged him out the car and started stabbing him ferociously, before disappearing into the darkness, however, nothing was stolen from the couple, raising queries over the motive of the attack.

His wife who was driving escaped unscathed during the incident and when the attackers had gone, she came from her hiding, only to find her husband`s lifeless body lying on the ground in a pool of blood. She reported the incident at Dago police station.

Confirming the incident, Kisumu West Sub-county police commander, Phanton Anola said the incident seems to have been triggered by a deal gone sour.

When police visited the scene, physical examination showed the deceased had sustained multiple stab wounds to the head, neck, chest, stomach, and arms.

The body has been moved Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) mortuary for preservation, pending a postmortem and further investigations into the incident.
