The long-awaited tarmacking of the Bata–Murengeti Road has officially taken off, with road clearing and earthworks currently underway.
Residents living along the corridor have been commended for their cooperation with the contractor, SINOPEC, which is also scheduled to tarmac the Karanjee Link Roads.
Members of the public have been urged to remain patient during the construction period, as temporary inconveniences are expected while the works continue.
The project traces its roots to a vision initiated during the 2013–2017 term, when the road was first proposed. The decision to disengage a previously underperforming contractor has since paved the way for renewed momentum, with tangible results now evident.
Once completed, the road is expected to significantly boost the area’s socio-economic development by improving accessibility, enhancing connectivity within Limuru Central and Bibirioni Wards, and reducing road accidents. The new route will also ease movement without reliance on the Nakuru–Nairobi highway.
Quality workmanship remains a key priority, with continuous engagement ongoing to ensure standards are met. The project is also creating employment opportunities for local residents, allowing the community to directly benefit from the development.
The Bata–Murengeti Road is part of a broader strategy to unlock Limuru through deliberate and phased infrastructure development, with more projects expected in the near future.
