Plans underway for Machakos to host trade expo

Machakos County has partnered with TH Premier Events and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) to coordinate and prepare for the upcoming 2nd edition of the Machakos Trade Expo to be held between 5th and 7th March 2026.

The trade expo that is expected to attract over 150 exhibitors and more than 3000 buyers and visitors is set to drive economic growth in the county by being a marketplace that will promote tourism, stimulate local demand and enhance the region’s visibility.

The CECM, Sharon Muasya, stated that the trade expo at Machakos Golf Club is crucial for aligning stakeholders in product marketing and fostering connections between buyers and sellers, thereby attracting both local and foreign investment.

She called on the public to turn up in large numbers to learn from the exhibitor’s products.

“We are calling on all stakeholders from the county and national government and the private sector to come together and attend the expo so as to link up with buyers and sellers and enhance local and international trade,” said the CECM trade.

Sharon affirmed the county government’s commitment to ensuring they achieve their target and hailed the collaboration of the public and private sectors in enhancing business competitiveness, facilitating regional trade and creating new market frontiers.

Mutavi Kithu, Director (KNCCI), who represents the lower Eastern region, said they are expecting a big turnout at the expo trade, as it provides a platform for product launches, face-to-face networking with professionals and establishing new business partnerships.

Machakos Deputy County Commissioner Gathungu Machira assured the stakeholders of a safe and secure three-day trade expo that is meant to encourage economic growth, visibility and investment.
