Harambee Starlets will travel to Ivory Coast for two international friendly matches before heading to a pre-tournament training camp in France as preparations intensify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) announced on February 22 that the national women’s team is set to depart on Saturday, February 28 for Abidjan. While there, Kenya will face Benin on March 2 and hosts Ivory Coast on March 4.
Both matches will be played at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara d’Ebimpé, offering the technical bench a valuable opportunity to fine-tune tactics and assess match readiness against competitive opposition.
Ivory Coast are currently ranked 72nd in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings, while Benin sits at 139. Kenya is placed 133rd, making the friendlies a key test ahead of the continental showpiece.
After the two fixtures, the squad will proceed to Miramas, France, for a residential training camp running until March 15. The team will then travel to Morocco for WAFCON 2026, scheduled from March 17 to April 3.
Kenya will open their Group A campaign against hosts Morocco on March 17, before facing Senegal on March 20 and Algeria on March 23.
