The County Assembly of Bomet has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB), formalizing a strategic partnership in publishing, printing, documentation, and information management.
County Deputy Speaker, Leonard Rotich, noted that the partnership will enable the Assembly to leverage KLB’s expertise and printing infrastructure to produce critical institutional documents, including Hansard and committee reports.
He said that the partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing access to information, and improving the efficiency of communication and record keeping within the Assembly.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Kenya Literature Bureau Chief Executive Officer, George Okeyo highlighted the Bureau’s decades of experience and legacy, noting that devolved units stand to benefit immensely from KLB’s institutional knowledge and resources.
He further announced that KLB has identified key Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities under the partnership, including the equipping of three community libraries across Bomet County.
Deputy Speaker Rotich lauded the partnership, noting that KLB’s extensive experience will greatly benefit the Assembly’s operations.
The County Assembly Clerk, Isaac Kitur, welcomed the initiative and affirmed that the partnership would significantly bolster the Assembly’s capacity to produce high-quality reports for dissemination to citizens.
The Kenya Bureau is a state corporation under the Ministry of Education, established to publish and distribute educational materials and other literary works. With decades of experience, KLB serves both national and devolved government institutions across Kenya.
