Police officers serving at Ngeteti Police Post in Githunguri Ward, Kiambu County, are set to benefit from newly constructed housing facilities aimed at improving their working and living conditions.
Construction of the housing units was sponsored under the local Constituency Office of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
During the handover ceremony on Thursday, September 10, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba hinted at the deployment of additional security personnel to the area.
“The Subcounty security committee is now expected to oversee deployment of security officers to enhance security in this area,” she said.
New accommodation is expected to enable officers to live closer to their area of operation, supporting faster response to security incidents and strengthening the presence of the National Police Service within the community.
The development comes as investment in police infrastructure, including staff housing and stations, continues to feature in efforts to improve security service delivery.
In Kiambaa Constituency, police officers at Karuri Police Station received an infrastructure boost following the renovation and equipping of the facility.
During the commissioning ceremony held in July 2026, Kiambaa MP John Njuguna said the facility had been equipped with new furniture to improve service delivery.
“A conducive working environment for police officers contributed to improved service delivery and strengthened collaborations between security agencies and the community in maintaining law and order,” Njuguna noted.
Earlier in June, Inspector General of Police (IG) Douglas Kanja commissioned a new administration block at the Kiamumbi Police Station, funded by the Kiambu Town Constituency NG-CDF.
Speaking during the ceremony, IG Kanja lauded the efforts of local leaders to enhance the state of security facilities and announced a Sh1 million donation to furnish the newly built administration block.
“To support our police officers and improve their welfare, I will personally ensure the construction of a police canteen at Kiamumbi Police Station in the next financial year,” he added.
Other investments in police infrastructure in the county include the construction of Gikumari Police Station in Ruiru Constituency, adding to ongoing efforts to provide officers with better working and residential facilities.
