Meshack Kiplangat, a 27-year-old farmer from Njoro, Nakuru County, has been crowned the seventh winner of SportPesa’s Goal Rush jackpot after correctly predicting the first goal-scoring team and the exact goal time across three pre-selected matches to win Sh10 million.
Kiplangat, a first-born son who grows potatoes and maize on his family’s farm in Njoro, moved back to Nakuru after a difficult stint in Nairobi that pushed him to return home and rebuild from scratch as a full-time farmer.
A consistent gamer, he had previously tasted success with a Sh10,000 multibet win, but nothing prepared him for the call that would change his life.
Kiplangat placed his Goal Rush bet and, as is often the case with the game, forgot about it until a phone call from SportPesa informed him he was the newest millionaire.
“I couldn’t believe it at first. I thought it was a prank call. It was only when I got to the SportPesa offices and they confirmed my slip that it hit me. I asked to withdraw some money immediately, and when it went through, that’s when I finally believed I had really won,” said Kiplangat.
The newly minted millionaire, now among the youngest winners in the game’s history, says the win could not have come at a better time.
Kiplangat said he plans to invest part of the winnings in expanding his farming activities and improving his family’s living conditions.
“This money means everything to me and my family. I want to expand my farming, build my parents a house, and finally build my own home,” he said.
He added that he would continue playing, describing the win as a blessing.
Speaking on the win, SportPesa Public Relations and Advertising Executive Mercy Kabui congratulated Kiplangat on his achievement, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to rewarding loyal players through the Goal Rush platform.
“We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Meshack as our seventh Goal Rush millionaire. His story is a reminder that Goal Rush truly is a game for everyone, free to play and open to any player who shares their prediction. We congratulate him and wish him well as he invests in his farm and family,” said Kabui.
Goal Rush remains one of SportPesa’s most accessible products; it is entirely free to play, with players required to simply share their prediction slip in order to be eligible to win the Sh 10 million jackpot.
