A 37-year old farmhand was Monday night mauled to death by his employer’s nine dogs at Kerundut village, Manaret location, Sotik Sub County.
Micah Kipkoech Langat’s body that had chunks of flesh devoured was moved to Kapkatet hospital morgue according to Manaret Chief Edna Sigei.
Ms. Sigei said the incident took the deceased’s employer Kipngetich Nge’no by surprise as the animals had been well fed and such could not have killed Kipkoech out of hunger.
She said the dogs had blood stains around their mouths suspecting one or some of them could have been rabid.
The administrator said the badly mutilated body was discovered in the farm with the employer promising to take good care of Langat’s family which resides in the farm.
Sotik Sub-County Police Commander Francis Ng’ang’a also confirmed the incident saying all the nine dogs were subsequently killed.
