The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has confirmed their preparedness for the Mumbuni North Ward by-election set for tomorrow, November 27, 2025.
Alice Kimani, the IEBC Returning Officer for Mumbuni North Ward, while speaking at Mumbuni girls on Wednesday during the verification of the sealed ballot boxes, announced that all polling materials are ready and had already been packaged and assigned to the 25 polling stations.
“The IEBC is fully prepared for the by-election. Ballot papers have been broken down, packaged, and all strategic and non-strategic materials are ready. Voting will begin at 6 AM tomorrow and end at 5 PM,” said Madam Kimani.
Candidates, Security personnel and election officials gathered to verify the sealed ballot boxes and assure voters of a transparent, peaceful process in Mumbuni North where there are 13,778 registered voters and 25 Polling stations as residents are urged to turn out in large numbers to choose their next MCA.
Kimani dismissed circulating claims of ID irregularities and corruption attempts as well as overnight arrests of culprits found bribing voters in Mumbuni.
“No official complaints have been filed. These remain rumors,” she clarified, urging voters to safeguard their IDs or passports for identification.
Harrison Wambua Mutuku, a Maendeleo Chap Chap MCA aspirant who was also present during the verification process, assured the public that the ballot boxes were in perfect condition after the verification process conducted at the tallying centre.
“We have seen everything is in order,” he said. “I urge all the people of Mumbuni to come out and vote and maintain peace. Your vote is what will determine the MCA you will have by tomorrow evening,” said Wambua.
Naomi Nzioki, a candidate for the MCA seat, encouraged residents not to shy away from participating, reminding youths and the wider community that progress depends on civic engagement.
“Please do not boycott voting,” Nduko urged. “Let’s maintain peace and come out in numbers because voting brings development to our area.”
The battle for Mumbuni North MCA seat is to be culminated tomorrow with five aspirants Anthoni Kisoi for Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) Harrison Wambua for Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC), Misi Mutua United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Richard Nzioki Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) and Naomi Nzioki for United Progressive Alliance (UPA)
With preparations complete and calm prevailing in the ward, the electorates now look to tomorrow’s vote — a poll expected to set the tone for service delivery, community development, and renewed leadership in Mumbuni North.
